Mariana – new products available….

Here is an opportunity to achieve an attractive level of Income with a reasonable certainty of outcome for Investors.  It’s the new April issue of the Mariana Defensive Income Plan with Banking Partner Morgan Stanley.

Worth noting:

A great headline rate of Income set at up to 7% p.a.

  1. The Defensive nature of the Plan with Income being paid each quarter providing the FTSE 100 is above 80% of its start price.
  2. The opportunity for early maturity after the first two years if the FTSE 100 is above 105% of its start price.
  3. The Product Strikes on the 17th April so there is plenty of time available for investors to arrange an investment.  Applications with payments made by bank transfer need to be received by Best Price FS on 3 April 2020; by cheque – 26 March 2020 and ISA transfers by 18 March 2020.
  4. With this tranche please note it is available to use for ISAs for both 2019/2020 & 2020/2021.  (NB 5th April investment deadline for 2019/2020 ISA funds but applications need to be received by Best Price FS by 27 March 2020).
  5. Using your ISA Allowance or indeed available ISA Transfer money in conjunction with an Income Structured Product of this nature is probably one of the most effective ways to increase net spendable income for Investors, particularly Higher Rate Taxpayers.

The Plan in Practice

If the Strike price of the Product were at a FTSE 100 level of say 7000 then:

  1. Income will be paid on every Quarterly date that the Index is at a level of 5600 or more.
  2. The product will mature early on the first occasion after year two that on one of the 32 subsequent Quarterly payment dates the Index is at a level of 7350 or more
  3. For any Capital to be lost the product would need to run its full term of 10 years & then at that point the Index would need to be at a level of 4550 or lower; or the Counterparty Bank Morgan Stanley would need to default

NB The potential Strike Price for this tranche could well look very attractive.

We would also like to bring to your attention the following plan by Mariana, again with Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc as the counterparty.

This plan has an Investment Term of up to 7 years 2 weeks and has a Potential Return of 2.275% for each quarter the Plan runs (9.1% p.a.) paid gross.  The Potential Return will only be paid if the Plan kicks out.

This is a Capital at Risk product so if on the Maturity Date the Closing Price of the worst performing Underlying Asset is less than 65% of the Start Level (representing a decline of more than 35% from the Start Level), your Initial Capital will be lost at a rate of 1% for every 1% the Closing Price of the worst performing Underlying Asset is below the Start Level.

As with all forms of investment there are risks involved. These plans do not guarantee to repay the money invested if encashed before the end of the contract term. The potential returns of the plans and repaying the money invested are linked to the level of the stock market and also depend on the financial stability of the Issuer and Counterparty.

Please ensure that you view the plan documents for full details of the features and the risks.

The promotion of the plans does not constitute ‘advice’ to invest. Advice is always specific to an individual investor’s circumstances and needs, following the process of ‘know your customer’, with the aim of ensuring that any product is suitable for an investor.
